Words @Lawnswood is a group of students, parents, members of the Lawnswood local community and teachers who gather both on the web and in person to celebrate our collective love of reading and writing. Parents, adults and students are welcome to post examples of their creative writing, any recommended reads and reviews of much loved books.
In the spring term Words @Lawnswood will begin meeting to discuss shorlisted books for the Lawnswood Book Prize. Students will be asked to recommend their top 3 books for teenagers: parents are asked to list their top three books when they themselves were teenagers. A shortlist of four books will then be compiled, these will then be read and discussed in fortnightly after school meetings- copious amounts of chocolate biscuits will be made available to all who attend!
Our first meeting, where we shall be discussing the books, will be on Wednesday 4th February 2009 3pm in the School Library.
Please email the group, if you are interested in taking part.
